i counted and photographed every object that i personally own. i counted things that are not shared with someone else and could be moved.
it came out to 2174 things, although the rules i used to count aren't uniform so really that's just a number. it could be more or less depending on what you wanna count.
i am relatively minimalist, so that number is no doubt less than the average
all the things are categorized as follows. the gallery page sort of keeps the categories
books
misc
tools
paper
art
toys
trash
i did this project may 25-28 2020
i think the idea is that defining identity or existence of self through your material possessions is dumb. who cares, u don't need things. i'm kinda over the american obsession with things, the material, capital, consumerism. or, perhaps better said, i aspire to not need a lot of things to live
it also sorta functions as a self portrait. the public can now see every single thing i own and that's informs you about what sorta person i am in a unique way i suppose
